🤱🏻 I’ve been working on a First Month blog post and really thought I would have had it up by now but alas with the move I don’t. I feel bummed that I’m not able to share more on here right now but it’s a goal of mine to get back to it in the next few weeks. 💉 Ford had his 2 month check up 2 weeks early so he could get shots before flying to California and despite some tears (for both of us) he was a champ. 🤤 Breastfeeding = hungry momma at all hours of the day and night, so having easy snacks/breakfast options is KEY. 🤱🏻 While breastfeeding (and even if you aren’t but you’ve got a newborn!) the most important things for mom are sleep, water, and food. Without those things you cannot sustain yourself for your baby, you just can’t. 🥦 Sleep is tough, but water & food have to be a priority. ⚖️ REAL TALK: This whole being a mom of a newborn thing is a constant battle between being so grateful for this little nugget that you created and also being terrified, confused, doubtful, & lonely. 💙 I’m beyond appreciative for all of the help & support we have and know how lucky I am, but that doesn’t lessen the physical drain from being constantly gnawed at every couple of hours by a human or a machine plus recovering from the most insane physical thing I’ve ever done. On top of that is the mental drain, besides for the raging hormones the days can feel like a race to not only get done the normal daily tasks of life (brushing teeth, unloading dishes, washing bottles/binkies, remembering to eat & drink & take meds) but also all of the essentials to keep him alive & happy & thriving...but the biggest struggle for me has been figuring out when to do what from eating to sleeping to playing. I’ve read the books, but when the real baby arrives with plans of their own it’s easy to feel confused and like you aren’t doing enough for him. The past few days however being mostly solo with him I’m starting to get a better sense of what he and I each need. 🤯 The good news is, despite all of that, he is perfect and we love everything about him.
